Benchmark DOOM III *TimeDemo*

For those who are lucky enough to have DOOM III you can benchmark via the timedemo in the console. When it starts up access the console (Ctrl+Alt+~)and type 'timedemo demo1.demo'
Run it the first time and it will pause sometimes (caching level) after that the 2nd (and following) runthroughs are veryclose.

Here's what I get (1024x768 HighQuality 0xAA/8xAF(application preference on driver control) (Omega 4.7s) Im gonna try the beta 4.9's now

We should keep this post alive for doom benches - specifically how ATI owners (9700-9800) are doing.

I haven't benched Doom yet, but it runs fantastic at 1280x1024 noAA noAF on 9800XT with cat 4.6, all game settings maxed. Every once in awhile - very seldom - I'll get a hiccup in framerate when I enter a lab. It only lasts 1/10th of a second, and only occurs in labs - which is about every 20 minutes or so. I'll bench it when I get off work and re-post.

Good game - but so far it feels nothing like Doom. Opinions?

The difference between Medium and High doesnt seem to affect frame rates at all. Also enable Triple Buffering in the OpenGL compatibily settings in the control panel for a good boost in framerate. Vsync on and off doesnt seem to affect Doom III at all since the engine seems to cap fps. I run with Vsync on all the time. It seems to make it run a lot smoother. Ill try the 1152x864 when i get home. I noticed an extra 2 fps with the 4.9beta drivers. Im back to the Omega 4.7's as i noticed some shadowing map texture problems.

Nice results Acid Jazz. Wish I had that card but I dont think I could sell this AIW for enough to make it worthwile.

However, it sure makes a huge difference in benchmark.
With vsync set to on in game I get around 46fps with my card, with it off 75.5 as you could see above.
I have vsync set to on while playing the game, because I get screen tearing otherwise.

With Vsynch turned off on both System and in game... It was turned on.
Note this is second time trhough so it was cached. First time through was 36 frames.

What is your screen refresh rate at the game's resolution? Is it able to be increased?
