| So... I got a new system with some decent components recently (april). Right now I have stock cooling on the GPU which I'm not happy about, and have a Zalman 9300AT cooling the CPU. That guy does it's job, without much OC'ing. I used to have a watercooled system in the late 90's: ![]() ![]() ![]() Edit: does that case look 90's or what? I kinda miss it, but I'm really far behind on the times. I took a really long left turn for a while, during which time some of you may or may not have noticed I disappeared from these boards. Anyway, I kinda wanna get a new water cooling system, and I've heard XSPC is a solid new company. Here are the components I'm tempted to get: From: Performance-PCs.com, ... sleeve it and they will come XSPC Razor Nvidia GTX280/260 Full Coverage VGA Water Block $99.95 XSPC Delta V3 Ultimate Univeral CPU Waterblock $44.95 XSPC 150 Passive Aluminium Reservoir - Red $59.95 XSPC DC1000 Water Pump (1000 liters/hr.) $69.95 Stainless Steel Shielded Hose Clamps for 5/8in.OD.Tubing $0.89 From: Jab-tech SPC R120-D (V) - Dual 120mm Radiator with top mount ports $49.95 XSPC 7/16" ID 5/8" OD High Flex Tubing - Clear/UV Blue $1.99 My main concern is with tubing... I don't really understand what size tubing I'm sposed to get for which components. It seems back in the day everyone and every part was on the same standard, now there's 3/8, 1/2 etc... As my girlfriend says... "I'm confucius..." What do you guys think about this one? |

| Re: New Water Cooling project... perhaps? Love that case!!!!!! I have heard/read the same about XSPC.... Good reviews for decently priced equipment. I liked the components you have chosen---pump looks good.... The simple rule is bigger tubing----more water flow----more cooling.... but you can bottlkneck the entire system with changing dimensions to other blocks.... 1/2 to everything would be great----5/8 better but I'm not sure you can get all your blocks with 5/8 in fittings.... You could use adapters----but you could still run into the bottle knecking. I also love Performance-pcs.com I have used them consistenly over the years when I do one of my color coded "theme" rigs-----you might want to give them a call and ask for advice----the owner of the company, Hank Baron, is tremendously helpful for custom builds and I have talked to him or his staff several times for opinions. | Re: New Water Cooling project... perhaps? Good to know about performance-pcs. I've never bought from them, but there are few retailers in the US that carry XSPC, and I don't feel like shipping from the UK lol! The radiator for XSPC is what got me, that thing is awesome! I'll try to go for 1/2 I think, a lot of the components seem to fit with that, so I would need any adapters. I'll keep you guys posted. |

| Re: New Water Cooling project... perhaps? Yeah congrats on your up coming H2o rig. I'm running a liquid rig with everything 1/2 inch. I have DangerDen and Swiftech water parts. I'm quite happy with my setup.... Here's a look-see at my water rig........*Mountainmods Black Beauty case, Pic's*

| Re: New Water Cooling project... perhaps? That's a killer case Skully. I've been thinking of using a square box to mod a system for my girlfriend. She is all about spiders (we have 3 pet tarantulas) so I was thinking of using the square case as the body, putting some kind of spider head looking thing in front, and then cutting 8 eights out of steel/aluminum. Kind of an ambitious project for me, and probably not for the near future, but its been on the back of my head for a while. And hey, all I need to mod a case is to be bored on a weekend. |

I saw thousands of tarantulas out in Arizona when I lived there. They were migrating over this field and road. I could hear then crunching under my car tires. After I got through them. I stopped and caught one in a box. But the wife made me get rid of it the next day.

| Re: New Water Cooling project... perhaps? Typically women aren't about them... but she got me into them for some reason. Here's a pic I took a couple weeks back: vheox.com/DSC02588.JPG (I'm not inserting in post cos its 2 Mb's and I dont feel like resizing it right now, in the middle of cooking) But yeah I live in Texas, and there's quite a bit when you get out of the city |
