Question Water block config opinions

Ok so its a polarflo with 3 holes 1 center in and 2 sides out.

having 3 1/2" tubes is annoying so i'm debating just using 2

What do you guys think? which ports should i use or should i just do the 3 ports.

I was debating going center in and one side out maybe... or side in side out.

See attached pic.

Thanks for your input!

Re: Water block config opinions

I've used the three hole, I used all three. The inlet hole right over the CPU, and the the two outlet holes on either side. I went back to using a two hole, as it is easier. You could try bringing the two outlets into a Y coupling and one hose from there.

Re: Water block config opinions

Don't know anythng about the inner stucture of the block, but i'd think that there is a purpose for three holes (coolant flows through every niche in the block).
If you plan to use only two holes i'd use both side holes because i think that this way the chance of "dead corners" where warm water or eventually air can get trapped should be minimal.

Greetings

Dru

Re: Water block config opinions

I thought a lot about it last night. I'm thinking i might just use all 3 again. I opened up the block and essentially it is unobstructed it looks more or less like the center whole just goes down closer to the center and the two side holes are up higher. So if i do side to side the center may not get as much as the water will always go via the path of less resistance ):

Oh well... as for the Y connector yeah thats how i normally do it. Maybe i won't use the Y connector this time lol Maybe i'll just dump them both into the resevoir. could look cool.

I sort of didn't want to put the 5.25 bay resevoir in my case though but oh well.

I appreciate all the info guys and i will post pics if i do decide to set it back up again. Thanks for all your input!

Oringall installed

So I went with the original configuration. What the hell right. Now the setup you see is hokey but my case is small so i put the pump and resevoir outside the case. I'm going to put another 120mm fan on the outside of the radiator i think.

Temps are good though 35cc idel and 55 or so load.

that is with out burn in so its not bad it will probably stablize soon.

Plus i haven't put the coolant in the water yet haha (:

soon.

thanks for all the input!

Re: Water block config opinions

Good temps, reminds me of my old setup. Where I had everything outside the case. Now that I have a huge case, I have everything inside, with no resevoir. Anywho enjoy......

Re: Water block config opinions

I'm oc'd a little now from 2.4ghz to 2.8ghz and temps are still great. They are just getting better. More air is out and the arctic silver is probably a little better. I'm at 32c idle and hovering around 48c with a couple prime95's running lol

Gotta love water. I put a big 120mm fan facing into the case over the mobo and what not for some more stability even though i haven't had a crash yet (: I am getting an 8800gtx tomorrow via RMA after that i will do some major oc'ing see what i can do with this puppy.

Re: Water block config opinions

It went. Right out of my case lol.

Nah it was good for a while. But I was getting annoyed with the water setup. Mostly because i worry about it. I don't have much time for my pc lately ): because of my job so i just pulled it out and am running on air.

I have enough problems trying to get fallout3 to run and not crash on me without having to worry about water leakage... i know it won't leak i have had it running for over a year but still it weighs on my mind hehe.

 to all

I know i haven't been around much but, best wishes to everyone.
