| Re: Who is using a fan controller? The CPU, the chipset, and both hdd's are watercooled in my rig. The HD3850 still has its fan (which is controlled by the card) which will be replaced either by a water-cooling-block or some other fan (one which blows the hot air out of the case) within the next month or so. The PSU still has a fan, and does control an additional case fan (running very slow most of the time). Greetings Dru

| Re: Who is using a fan controller? On the one machine I use all 4 channels, on the other system, just three. I seperated it out to, rear, front, top and CPU's fans. The LED's are pretty bright. I read one article in the past where the person bent them inwards so they didn't shine so much. They don't bother me since my cases are on the floor and I don't sleep next to the box. The LED's toggle between red and blue depending on how far you have the rheostat turned up. I like it because it gives a lot of control over the voltage to the fans. I have a Vantec unit that used PWM to do the same job and it had this persistent buzzing noise. The rheostat's don't buzz, so you don't get added noise when you're trying to quiet the case. ![]()

| Re: Who is using a fan controller? I purchased the same one in black a few months ago but never installed it yet. I did read about a few burning theirs out, maybe they were using some really big fans Gorganzola, do you find they give off alot of heat ?

| Re: Who is using a fan controller? I dont really see a usein having one unless the noise and/or power consumption is obnoxious.

| Re: Who is using a fan controller? No issues with heat on the fan controller. I've got it tucked up in the front of the case and have had my fingers poking around there without issue.

| Re: Who is using a fan controller? Yup, the CPU fans (80mm x 2) are on one channel in the Xeon system. Then two front 120mm fans are on another channel, the rear 120mm on another channel and the top 80mm fan is on another channel. The other system I had 80mm x 3 running on one channel. It uses rheostats and they hold up quite well. There are specs on how much wattage they can handle. I did all my calculations and made sure I didn't over do it and have had no issues. I'm not running multiple 120mm x 38mm high end Delta fans on one channel, but it probably could be done as long as the numbers came in right.

| Re: Who is using a fan controller? I hooked mine up this morning after I changed my HTPC to a Ultra MicroFly case. Man ... those LED's are bright when you look straight at them, they look like lasers. I was going to have the system facing the front but because of the LED's, I will put it behind the TV.

| Re: Who is using a fan controller? hehe, ya they are bright, that is for sure. That's why the one reviewer bent them back a bit so they didn't stick out the front of the face plate on the rheobus. It's great though, I can wander around in my computer room with the lights off, ![]() Quote:
