| Re: * 3x120gig OCZ SSD's in RAID-0 * Ok, reading the benchies from left to right. The first two pic's are of the 16th of June and second two pic's are of today the 19th of June. I've had this phenomena happen before. Where the drive performance has improved after a day of use. I put this phenomena off to tweaks I made, the first time. But this second time no tweaks were made, and this is three days later... ![]() and I lie not. The next time I need to reimage for preformance. I'll also show a benchie of how much the drive has degraded in preformance. All this straight from Skully's laboratory..... ![]()

| Re: * 3x120gig OCZ SSD's in RAID-0 * Here also is a CrystalDiskMark benchie 1000mg test. This is for today the 19th. I wish I would of had a CrystalDiskMark benchie of the 16th. After reimaging, but I don't. Anywho I'll be keeping track of my SSD's and how fast they degrade. As stated above starting the 16th with no tweaks added in-between.

| Re: * 3x120gig OCZ SSD's in RAID-0 * Ok, lets see what todays offering gives us, Yeah a wee drop in benchie scores. But far from needing to run my backup imaging. Now I realize not many will be interested in this test, to see how long my RAID-O holds up. Without reimaging, that restores the drive to peak performance. So's this is kind a for my own info, and ABX is my storehouse of record. Here's the benchies for today. Remember between the 16th of June, and until I reimage the SSD's, no tweaks or cheats will be applied. Then I'll have my own facts, on the degrading performance of said drives. So on with the show...

| Re: * 3x120gig OCZ SSD's in RAID-0 * Well my ole friend, thanks! If only you have interest, it makes it all worth it....... ![]() Yeah I think this will truly be of help to those who are looking to get into SSD'S. I'll also report on anything I think is an anomaly with said drives. By the by, I'm running the SSD's on W-7 RC 1. And needs no alignment as XP does. Also Vista needs no SSD alignment.

| Re: * 3x120gig OCZ SSD's in RAID-0 * Thanks, its my favorite W-7 RC1, and with the SSD's. Its hard to spend much time with Vista and my old Raptors, that grind away. I'll keep up the testing and reporting on the SSD's/W-7 RC 1.....

| Re: * 3x120gig OCZ SSD's in RAID-0 * Thanks for the new info Skully. I have not ordered any SSD drives yet, I am going to wait a while and see what direction they go. Wait until Win7 is on the store shelves.

| Re: * 3x120gig OCZ SSD's in RAID-0 * I think this test you're doing is a great thing. It should give people some idea about real life performance with SSD's even though in your case you'll just be going from warp 8 to warp 5, hehe. If you have the "stamina" to wait, you should let the performance decay until it reaches a steady "bad" level. That should give us some indication of what worse case performance is likely to be when the wear levelling algorithm really has to go to work. All in all, good effort, though!

![]() Thanks, that was my intent. To see once and for all. How long until, as you say, a steady bad performance level is reached. I hope I have the stamina and nothing goes south with windows W-7 RC1.

| Re: * 3x120gig OCZ SSD's in RAID-0 * Ok, this is day seven and SSD's in RAID-O. Running still very, very, strong. I've read over at OCZ forum. That the latest firm ware, has SSD performance enhancement. And so it would seem, as I've lost very little read/write speed over the last 7 days. I'm still quite happy with the SSD's thus far....... Here's the benchies for today..
