| I personally never had any problems with 2 or even 3 harddisk on top of eachother but i'we heard of hd slowdowns related to very hot harddisk, i guess it would'nt hurt installing a cooler in the 3,5" cage though.....I did tha myself, just to be safe.

It was just the old prob of W2k ata100 support that the SP2 has fixed. As for running any of those drives @ 166/170, sorry, no comments here... I'm one of those few running their system @133... I get my kicks from a stable&reliable machine | |

| asus, The mounting kit is so you can mount the 3.5" hard drive in a 5.25" bay. If you have no room in the lower hard drive cage then I would order it. If you do have room and you are not packing your hard drives too close together then don't worry about it. I just put two DiamondMax Plus 60 40GB 7200RPM drives in a RAID setup. I put them in the 5.25" bays so that there would be more room around them for cooling. If you are only putting one or two drives in the 3.5" drive cage then I wouldn't worry about the mounting kit. I have other drives in the 3.5" drive cage and didn't want to risk over heating them.

| well, they are pretty close together, but there is room for 2 hard disks in the 3.5 inche BAY, but i have a case fan blowing on it when it is a hot day, its getting cold now anyways becuase of fall and winter, so cooling ill worry about in the summer again.
