|  dvd & cd-rw on same ide? Has anyone experienced or heard of problems with reading or writing data when you have a dvd and cd-rw on the same ide channel? I have a pioneer dvd 6x (32x cd-rom speed) and plan to purchase a ricoh mp7125a with just link (12x10x32). My system is: Piii 1000 256 RAM cusl2-c hercules geforce2 64 RAM ibm deskstar 30gig x7200 quantum 20 gig sub 7200 (both hard drives are udma 5 on the first ide) Any opinions appreciated. Jose Marques

| I have a Plextor 12/10/31 as master and a Pioneer 106S DVD as slave on IDE#2 with no problems. I don't make many CD to CD copies, however. If you make a lot of CD to CD copies, you might consider the following: Prim. Master - HDD (boot drive) Prim. Slave --- CD-ROM Sec. Master -- HDD Sec. Slave ---- CD-RW You will need an 80-wire cable on IDE#2 for the HDD to run UDMA5. For more information check out: http://www.storagereview.com/ |

| fijo i have a pioneer 10x DVD as sec Master , Matsush*ta ( LOL spoilers) 4x burner as slave, never had a problem. as blt said, disc-to-disc is glitchy, but getting better with newer burners.. considering mine is quite old, i gues im lucky  cryogen
