Wink Ibm 60 Gxp

Hi all, just got my mobo replaced (remember my g/f's son ate my bios?) I have an IBM ultra 66 20 gig hdd.
I just ordered a 60 GXP series 40 gig hdd.
What I need to know is will the older 20 gig hdd slow down the performance of the newer drive, and can I reinstall w2k/p and then remove it from the old drive?
Thanks for the help....t

i dont think the 20GB HDD will hurt the performance of your new drive. since both drives are ATA100 and they are the same make, even if you connect both drive on the same IDE cable, it should be just fine.

hey, tell me how your gf's son "ate" your BIOS?
is it tasty? LOL~

Hey Bakku, My g/f's son tried to update my bios for me but didn't tell me it failed til he was back in college at Buffalo State.
He has since been forgiven, I figure it was only a matter of time before I screwed it up myself....t

hahaha.....what a story.

you are considered lucky, t. at least you got to replace your MB. there are some ppl out there couldnt get their MB replaced due to a screwed up BIOS.

**a piece of advice: never flash in windows. i dont trust that stupid windows flash utility, it's useless.
