Missing CD Rom drive

So...I'm my cd drive isn't showing up at all. I've done a search here, and through google. The things I tried temporarily worked, but nothing permanent. I've uninstalled/re-installed my software and drivers, and that was a temp fix as well.

PLASE HALP!!!

(bonus points to whomever can name the movie of that last line)

I have looked around a little trying to help someone else with the same problem. There is a registry hack you can use to trick windows. Windows Vista – Missing CD/DVD-Rom drive at Random Fix - Computer Help

Hi RavenWolf!

Looks like spookyload has already found the right link to a solution for your problem, hope it works for you.

Regarding your movie quote, i think you mean "Fifth Element". It's where Leeloo is trying to convince Korben Dallas to rescue her from the police (after she crahsed through his cab's roof.

Greetings

Dru

Sadly I've tried the registry hack a few times, but it has yet to stick.

Re: Missing CD Rom drive

Do a google search for "missing DVD drive" It seems to be fairly common. There is a lot of discussion about this under windows xp and vista.

Re: Missing CD Rom drive

did you try sliding out the dvd drive and reseating it? if its a removalbe? Sounds like it could be a connection issue.
