| (is this the right forum?) I just installed a Seagate Hornet tape drive (20gig). For some reason my machine looks during tape retension (eventually). Has any comes across this? Any ideas? Thanks much, Greg |

| Using Win2k? If so, read this about SCSI patch: http://www.asusboards.com/vbulletin/...&threadid=4581 ALso, check the DIP switches on the tape drive and make sure you have proper termination and that you are using S/W listed as approved for tape operation for that drive.

| It's actually an IDE tape drive. I have it hooked up to a regular IDE. I suppose I could try hooking it up to the ata100 controller. The problem takes place after a long access to the tape drive, and then sometimes I get the blue screen of death. And then when I hit enter, sometime the BSOD goes away and it continues. So bizarre. |

| You may want to read in the IDE/Controller section as there have been lots of IDE issues resolved there...
