Re: * FREE ware to make RamDrive *

I have 8GB RAM installed in my rig, Vista 64 and opensuse can use all of it, Win XP is limited to 4GB (because it's only 32 bit).

So i tried to install the "Gavotte ramdisk"-software in WinXP to have the unused 4GB of RAM availabel as RAMDISK. But somehow the software was using 4.99 GB for the ramdisk (the extra 4GB plus some of the ramm addressed by Win XP 32) regardless how i configured it, so i removed it after a while.

Greetings

Dru

Re: * FREE ware to make RamDrive *

I know that progs n a ram drive can be faster, used to play games from ram-drive on my 286 back in the old days (i think i had 1 MB RAM installedin my rig, used everything above 512 kB as ramdrive to load a complete game from floppy there so reloading between levels was super fast)

I don't want to "waste" any of the 4GB WinXP can use for a ramdrive, so i liked the idea behind the gavotte ramdrive software to use RAM XP can't address anyway.

Greetings

Dru
