| The Truth about OCZ's PC3700 Gold DDR (Dual Channel) Read the following article... it is a pretty good one. LostCircuits' review of OCZ's PC3700 256MB EL DDR Gold Dual CH RAM OCZ uses Samsung chips (Part # K4H280838E-TCB3) in these modules... and NOT ones made by them, as we've read/been told many, many times before ![]() It is amazing what some sandpaper and a laser marker can do - D24 |

| Hmm, so why did they advertise that they manufacture their own memory?

| The real truth to be reckoned on this is that OCZ has reached much higher FSB than their rated with minimal voltage compared to any other memory out there with good timing. After trying 3 different sets of memory so far, I would still pay the premium over having to go hit and miss run with memory.

| These are modified samsung unit , we basicaly blasted abouy 7 mil off the top of some samsung ICs using a CO2 Laser to improve the heat disapation ( something along the lines of how EL DDR ICS are produced ), these are used primarily in the premier series Pc-3700 right now , but were used in some gold series

| Since MS at Lost Circuits reportedly works for Mushkin, it certainly appears he went out to prove OCZ mem was bad. But in fact the review is Grudgingly FAVORABLE. He says even though the chips are sanded and remarked after selection, the GOLD modules perform AS ADVERTISED and much better than he ever expected. Since MS bought these on the open market, he has probably given the BEST endorsement yet of OCZ's current products. I'm not sure that was his intention, but it is what happened. Please read the ENTIRE review. Last edited by Prometheus_abx; 07-10-2003 at 03:44 PM.. |

| Oh BTW Does everyone here know MS from lost circuits is a mushkin employee ? It really makes me sick that any process we use , including modifying ICs for improved thermal performance can get turned into some ridiculus BS reason for people to run around forums bashing OCZ Facts are that OCZ gold out performs anyone elses product. and other manufacturers are getting jealous. We have a process that works to increase performance and others dont. BTW: I posted 2 weeks ago that we were doing this in xtreme forums , I know you all dont post there , but I am sure people have seen the earlier post In fact I was talking to BIGTOE about it earlier today If others want to compete with OCZ they should focus on improving there customer service , instead of trying to turn everything into something horrible . ![]()
