Setting up a home network

Hello. I have 3 computers running Windows 98SE. They all have network cards and they are all connected via a switch. I have a router connected to the switch, so all the computers get internet access. But I never set the computers up to communicate with eachother. I only want a network to play games over. I do not want to share printers, or files. I don't even want different user accounts or passwords. I just want the computers to recognize eachother so that I can play games like Quake III and AOE over the LAN. What would be the best way to set this up. Thanks!!!

I think you are basically done. You should be able to go to network neighborhood and see the other computers that are on the network and powered up. If you want to make a drive or printer available to other computers you have to enable file and/or print sharing and then right click on the drive or printer and set up sharing. Usually the NIC manuals have documentation giving all of the details for doing this.

If you follow the instructions here:

http://grc.com/su-bondage.htm

you will have a secure workable network. Probably a better understanding of the setup required as well.

If you need any clarification feel free to post and I or other will be glad to help.
