WPA Passphrase

I am trying to set up my wi-fi linksys G router to WPA enc. Yet every time it asks me for a share key I enter it and then I loose my connection. As I try to re-establish the connection I have to enter that key and then re-confirm it. Yet every time I do this it will not allow me. What must that passphrase consist of? letters, numbers, spaces, ETC... A little help here on what my system is looking for.
Thanks
Also is there any how to idiot guide on how to set up a home network. After I finish this I will have 3 computers that I would like to access internet, file share, and printer share.

In mine, not a linksys, I think it has to be numbers, but I'm not totally sure of that. Sometimes entering that thing takes a few tries, I've found before it takes.

In what area? You might check the Warning... sticky at the top of the Networking forum, there's a lot there.

Edit: I guess I'm not sure exactly what you need help setting up, most of it is plug and play behind your router and switch if you have one.
