Question

Will these work I am not sure if they are double sided or not. From reading some people recommend to only have 3 sides if the above are double sided yhat would make 4 sides. If anyone has these chips are you having problems. If so what did you do to resolve them if you could. Thanks

They are double sided.
i815E(EP) supports two double-sided
or one double-sided plus two single-sided DIMMs.
(support up to 4 sided)
Check out the following site.

I am using the same Crucial 256MB CL2
memory x 2 (total 4 sided),
and off course, I don't have any problems.

I thought that you're limited to using only 2 of the 3 memory slots when using PC133 while all three can be used with PC100. There have been previous posts that explained why you should not exceed 3 sides. In summary, if you use 4 or more sides people have seen data corruption when transfering large amounts of data. If you subscribe to this, then you should not use anything other than 1 single sided stick (1 side) along with 1 single or double sided stick (1 or 2 sides) for a total of 2-3 sides in two banks.

I have two of those 256MB sticks. They are double sided and I have had no probklems whatsoever, even when transferring a 19GB partition image.

I don't have any data corruptions either.

ctsracer,

The data crruption with over 3 sides of memory
was reported when more than 4 IDE devices were used,
and the conclusion was that it "might" happen
and that it won't happen with SCSI HDD.

At least, there is no problem reported using
two those crucial 256MB sticks.

Officially, i815 including CUSL2 series supports
total 4 sided memory and Crucial says there is
no problem like that with the 256MBCL2 memory.
Only if you have problem with them,
you can return one of them.
