Question


Hi all, just bought some new memory, I was told I was buying Infineon memory, but Dr.Hardware reports it as "Brooktree" what ever the @*!@ that is, anyone heard of it , is it a parent company or something.

The stick of Infineon that I have says "infineon" on each of the chips, and CTSPD reports the manufacturer as Texas Instruments

Ok I see now, I never did look at the ram itself, mine says Infineon as well but is reported as Brooktree, obviously same ram just diff manufactuer.....

It's more likely that Brooktree is the manufaturer of the pcb, or that it is the company which assmbles the dimm.

There are only a few manufactures of ram in the world, but there are loads of assemblers.

For instance Mushkin use Infneon chips in their pcb's.
