|  Hi all, just bought some new memory, I was told I was buying Infineon memory, but Dr.Hardware reports it as "Brooktree" what ever the @*!@ that is, anyone heard of it , is it a parent company or something. Thanks

| The stick of Infineon that I have says "infineon" on each of the chips, and CTSPD reports the manufacturer as Texas Instruments [Edited by garnet on 02-16-2001 at 08:20 PM]

| Ok I see now, I never did look at the ram itself, mine says Infineon as well but is reported as Brooktree, obviously same ram just diff manufactuer..... Thanks for the reply....

| It's more likely that Brooktree is the manufaturer of the pcb, or that it is the company which assmbles the dimm. There are only a few manufactures of ram in the world, but there are loads of assemblers. For instance Mushkin use Infneon chips in their pcb's.
