Trader why didn't you just buy a 3.0c or 3.2 in the first place? For the kind of overclocking your wanting to do on that 2.4c you will spend just as much on memory as you would have spent if you had just bought a CPU that was already where you want to take the 2.4.

You mean the new IC7 Max3? Really, it provide 3.2 vdimm. If that is true, thats it, I'm getting one. But can anyone confirm this?
I would wait for the dust to clear on this. Maybe guys like Prom can try out the board. Like I said, the Abit IT7 offered up to 3.2 in the BIOS but anything over 2.9 was really 2.8 actual. The Epox boards are the only ones to offer true 3.2 or 3.3 volts, and they actually overvolt by .02 (sizzle).

Yeaa... I known, kind of regret a little bit. I didn't want to give up on my 2.4 though. Its one of the very first bench from Malay. I think it has enormous OC potential. It does 3.3g at default voltage. From reading many post, most 3C hit a wall around 3.5-3.6g on air and some of the later bench don't OC as good as the earlier one. I was confident that my 2.4C can do 3.5g. Instead of gambling on a new cpu OC ability, I chose gambling on finding the right memory. I was also thinking that 2.4 to 3.5 get 11XX FSB instead of 3 to 3.5 9XX FSB.

So that was my train of thought.

As Clevor and I stated earlier, Corsair pc3500 is very stable @ 455-459mhz 1:1, 2-2-3-5 with 2.85v.
I would like to try the Corsair3500ver. 1.1. So far the P4P800 I have will not go over 440Mhz stable with the 2nd pair of OCZ3700Gold I have. I can do up to 264 at 5:4 though. They do get past 466 in single channel mode.
BigToe has suggested going through a process of flashing all the bios revisions in order including all the beta releases to try to find a bios that will work with the OCZ but I am hoping to see what the Corsair will do before I go to that extreme.

If I can't get there with OCZ then I would rather have tighter timings with the Corsair at 5:4 I think.

I don't know about JoeBar, but actually I am running DDR459 at 5:4, not 1:1 (thank God!), as I have a 2.40C. However, I have run DDR484, 1:1 when I had a lousy 2.40C that only did 242 fsb. The sticks needed 3.0 volts though, and was 3D stable. Attached is my unbuffered bandwidth at DDR484, 2-2-2-5 on a 4PCA3+.

What thoroughly amazes me is how I was able to run 250, 1:1 at DDR500 at 2-2-2-5 on the 4PCA3+ board. Yes, it took 3.2 volts, but these are two 512 MB sticks in dual channel! I figured no way the board could drive two dense sticks that high. As I recall, the sticks were Memtest clean to DDR504, and I believe I passed all three 3DMarks at DDR500. Of course, no sense dwelling there as with a 2.40C, I was only at 3 gig. I got a later revision 4PCA3+ board which I will be reinstalling soon.

I tried DDR510, 2-2-2-5 at 3.3 volts but no go. I also could not get any higher than DDR504 even by relaxing the timings. These Corsair sticks seem locked in at tight settings.

Very stable.
