Anyone using PC8500 (DDR2-1066) on Asus P5E

I am going to upgrade to the P5E (x38 board) and a 1333fsb processor. ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

Is anyone running this board with DDR2-1066 at full speed. Not overclocked but plain 1066? What brands work best for full speed value? I am looking at Crucial Ballistix or Kingston HyperX. Already had major issues with Corsair, so don't even go there

Thanks in advance

Bob

No matter what speed I set the memory...it would fail memtest...in the first pass. I ended up getting the board (LOVE IT!) and Corsair Ballistix Tracers (2 x 1 GB) PC8500. Great Memory...the combination is Fast!

Hmm....they are both made with Micron D9 ICs so my guess is you simply had a bad set. Sorry you had an issue and enjoy the Crucials.
