Corsair XMS2 or G. Skill?

I'm planning on upgrading my system soon and was wondering which of these 2 memory sticks is the better performance choice?...I'm mostly planning on doing high end gaming (Crysis etc) with some moderate overclocking...I'm gonna go with either the E8400 or Q6600 CPU

Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800 (5-5-5-18), Voltage: 1.8V

Newegg.com - CORSAIR 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

G. Skill DDR2-800 (4-4-4-12), Voltage: 2.0V-2.1V

Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

Re: Corsair XMS2 or G. Skill?

The G. Skill at 4-4-4-12 @800mhz with give you the same performance as 5-5-5-15 @1066mhz. So i would go with the G. Skill.

Go with the G Skill. Good memory and much more overclockable than the Corsairs you are looking at.

I think I'm gonna go with the G. Skill's...only thing that worried me about them was the high voltage spec compared to the Corsair

I love the QX9650. This chip does not run as hot as the QX6700 that I have in the other system. I could probably push this QX9650 to 4.0Ghz easily. I am folding with the FAH SMP client right now with the speed set to 3.663GHz. FAH has ran without any issues. Giving me 3550 points per day in production. The 12MB of cache compared to 8MB with the QX6700 seems to be helping a lot. BTW, I was going to get the Maximus Extreme, but decided not to invest in DDR3 memory.

I also believe that the Super Talent 2 GB sticks use the excellent Micron D9 chips---which are known for the best performance and overclockability...I know Mushkin had a set of 2 GB Micron D9 modules out but they are now very hard to find

most 2 GB modules do not use Micron D9
