Cool

Nice competition will bring higher product quality & lower prices. Anyway, Skull, there is news about VIA here. VIA has confirmed a data-damaging glitch in its 686B Southbridge chip - a major part of the Taiwanese company's KT-133A chipset - and is working with mobo makers to prepare BIOS updates to fix the problem. See here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/3/18267.html

Also nice info here on AMD:

Here's a picture of nice competiton for end users (lower prices offcourse):

Your welcome. Better be alert Skull, cause it is an important issue. Your waiting will no longer be that long, because NvMax adds the following from VIA:

VIA has acknowledged a problem with the southbridge 686B chip, part of the KT133A package on its motherboards; which is data corruption when tranfering files (100mb +) over a DMA crossing of two harddrives. The bug is already being fixed and bios updates should be available by next week. There is also VIA 4-in-1 driver 4.30 beta

So you play around with KT7A more than you do with CUSL2?

SKULL, you are blessed, got this news:

VIA 686B Chipset data-corruption fix Posted by viper
Saturday, April 14 @ 19:40:19 GMT+1 [ VIA ]
There seems to be a problem when you have a 686B based mainboard from VIA. The problem appears when you copy large files from one harddisk to another with different IDE ports. Than the whole system could hang up. Now at VIAHardware somebody has created a fix for Windows 9x/ME/2000:

This is a driver for Windows 9X, NT, and 200X. It is intended to stabilize the PCI bus of computers that have Via chipsets. This driver takes control of the main VIA-branded chip on the computers' motherboard, which is the chip responsible for connecting the CPU to the RAM and ROM and PCI and AGP and so forth. This driver adjusts the way that the VIA chip communicates with the computer's PCI bus.

The fix: http://www.viahardware.com/download/...tency_v010.zip

Cool

So cool my Skull. I am thinking of trying those KT7A + TBird at least 1 GHz for the second machine. The prices have been cut again, and the way you overclock by setting the FSB & by unlocking the multiplier in AMD is very interesting, attractive & challenging to do. While it is boring to overclock with Intel CPU that only allows you to set only the FSB. Been watching all the reviews out there. Or is it better to get DDR mobo? Any suggestion Skull?

Sounds like you need a new toy there Mushkin...

I just tried to send you an email. Actually - I've tried a couple times. I don't think it's working.

Hey Mushkin Rules! Ok buddy, I thought I would like to see the dust settle on the ddr mobos, before jumping in.
These Tbirds are moucho fast. The kt7a is alot of fun as it offers a plethora oc'ing options. Mine has ran smooth so far. Waiting for swiftech MC462 to come in. Want to get this Super mini orb off the mobo. Also looking into water cooling. E-mail Ozzie, as he has a rig that may interest you! Intel is killing themselves for me with boredom. Yea, I'm just about sure to set-up a water rig.
Just look around the internet and e-mail ozzie. All I can say is I'm ''really happy'' with my KT7A and 1.2ghz set-up.

Ozzie, tried e-mailing you. It doesn't seem to want to work. If you receive more then one e-mail from me its because of e-mail problems.
