Question How do you know if your system needs more RAM ??

I have WINME with 256+128MB

How do you know that if I would increase my ram that it's gone run faster.
(normal applications but also games)

I can add 256MB but if I add 512MB it will probably just cost me more and give me notting.
How do you know that I even should consider buying 256MB extra?

I do not know if there is a good way of testing that beforehand. It is my opinion that most of us hear results from others who have made that change and then add RAM if we have a similar configuration. My guess is that you are fine where you are, although increasing your RAM to 512 MB total would probably help a little. Beyond that, my guess is that you would not see much improvement with today's applications, although who knows what the situation will be like in a year.

Should you decide to increase your RAM beyond 512MB with Windows Me, you will need to tweak your settings or your system may not run well. You can learn more here (link).
