How much RAM do I really need?

You can find some pretty decent 2X1GB kits for $200 or less. The premium modules like Ballistix cost a lot more. But since you said in another thread that you weren't planning to overclock, you don't need the premium stuff.

Times have changed. Running 2X1GB was once considered exotic for home users. Not anymore.

Well I wasn't planning to overclock for at least 6 months from now. Once everything is broken in, that will probably change.
