I installed 2 128 Mushkin sticks about 2 months ago. I have been getting alot of memory error messages, such as, "There's not enough memory available you must close an application". I end up closing an application and I still am unable to do work. I have a CUSL2 w/667EB. Can someone please help????????

check your system resouces, right click on "my computer" icon, then click properties. click "performance" tab and check system resources. if the % of your system resouces gets too low then your see the "not enough memory" message. solution: goto start -> run -> type "msconfig", then click the tab named "startup", uncheck all boxes and restart your computer. after the reboot, check your system resources again, it should be at least 90% and more......and you'll never see the "not enough memory" message again.

BTW, after doing the tip, if you still get the error message, then your mem sticks may be defective. to troubleshoot, take out one of your ram stick and test run your pc. swap the sticks and do the test run again. you should be about to identify the defective stick by doing so.

| What rev is your 2 x 128 MB Mushkin? Are they of the same type with the same chipsets? Try run with only 1 stick & try them also on DIMM 1 & 3. Let's see, worth to try.

maybe blurb is right! never thought of that, good thinking blurb! check your harddisk space!! you can get rid of this problem (if it is the problem) by manually setting your swap file size. here is how to do it -> -> right click "my computer" icon -> click "performance" tab -> click "virtual memory" botton -> select "let me specify my own virtual memory settings" then put the minimum and maximum to the same value. 256 is a good value, try it. by doing so, you can specify a fixed empty space in your HD to store the swap file. 256 should be large enough, i never have problems with that value.
