| Well, just to get caught up: it was indeed another bad set of RAM. Sent back the second set of Mushkin and bought a 2GB kit of Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400. Popped it in, set up the timings and voltage in the BIOS, ran Memtest86 overnight and eight hours later, not one error! So, problem solved and the rig is now as stable as can be! ![]()

| Re: Memory Issue With New Rig...Help! Hmm, that is odd that it was the memory. ASUS motherboards can be picky where memory is concerned. Up until I got 975XBX2 in March of this year, I had the P5N32-E SLI board, and last year when I got that board, it wouldn't even work with Crucial Ballistix memory. Gave up, took that junk back to the store, and got the standard Crucial DDR2 800 and no problems after that.

| Re: Memory Issue With New Rig...Help! I agree! Mushkin has always been great quality RAM in my book. I guess I just got incredibly unlucky this time around... ![]()

| Re: Memory Issue With New Rig...Help! I had my round of bad luck with Crucial's Ballistix as you've seen last year. Crucial's standard memory works good. Only thing you could have tried is updating the bios on your motherboard, to see if that would have improved memory compatibility. ASUS does add improved memory compatibility to their bios updates.

| Re: Memory Issue With New Rig...Help! As a rule of thumb, I'd want to stay away from cheap memory. In alot of instances, you get what you pay for. |
