| I have a Sony Vaio Pentium 4 HT PCV-RZ56G 220gb hard drive with PC 3200 ddr memory 1gb in two 512 sticks also has a 3.4 gb processor DVD -rw/+rw and need to know if I can upgrade it to at least 3gb of memory I have the open slots. Also would like to know if I can use overclocked memory PC3200DDR to do this and if so will it run applications faster than regular PC3200 memory. I understand that overclocking makes the memory faster just need to know if my computer will run the memory before I spend the bucks on it. I do a lot of DVD editing and Burning also have external DVD double layer Memorex drive 16x. Sometimes run some intensive Graphics applications also. Are there any other types of memory I can upgrade to besides the PC3200 that my PC will run? Thanks for any help provided. |

| You would have to check with Sony to see if you can run faster than PC3200 memory. Also, you may not be ale to overclock since you have a proprietary PC and most manufacturers lock those features out of the BIOS. As for capacity, you could probably take up to 4GB.

| Sony specifications say max = 2gb: http://www.docs.sony.com/release/spe...RZ56G_mksp.pdf Sony Vaio bios does not allow OCing options. I would suggest you find a supplier of OEM type memory and buy a PC3200 2 x 512mb kit of memory to add to your existing memory.
