Got some Mushkin PC4000 comming in

Just bought 2x256 Mushkin pc4000 ram.. I will let everyone know how it overclock should be pretty good.. I will be running this on an Abit Max3 with a 2.4c. And will post benchmarks When I get everything in.
This **** was expensive and it better overclock good. I already had bad luck with Geil pc3700 Golden Dragon.

That CAS3 DDR500 is something to stay away from. Your pretty muched hosed at around 250 3-4-4-8. Most likely you will never see 260 let alone 275fsb. Because you have no more room to slow down the memory. CAS2.5 modules give your over 100 combinations in which to stabilize from. CAS3 chips are dead ends... Stay away... Wait till Mushkin creates a 2.5 module...

Hi so your saying I should cancle my order??? I have seen people on forums overclock ocz pc4000 the copper ones. and they have the same ratings as the mushkin pc4000. I even see people overclock their coppers higher than the gold... The reason why I got Mushkin is because I hear they are the best. And I wanted to be a little different then the rest.

Any others have comments?

Also ocz copper pc4000 and adata pc4000.. are all rated 3-4-4-8
And those two are the highest overclockers out now.. So I'm sure my new mushkin will reach it or even pass ddr560.. Only Time will tell.

Best to get some good low latency 3700 memory which runs at either 2-2-2 (although I am not sure if anyone makes one) or at least 2.5. Those will almost certainly run at 4000 at CAS3. You will be paying slightly less and more choices.

Actually, the only "good" PC3700 would have to be the OCZ Gold stuff and they're rated at 2-3-3-7. But they're actually more expensive than the OCZ PC4000 coppers. They come closer to the PC4000 Golds.

The PC4000 coppers from OCZ are doing at or neat DDR550, which is pretty amazing with the rated timings at DDR500 or 3-4-4, same as the Mushkin. And if we know Mushkin, you'll get awesome o/cing with their awesome support.

I have had a bunch of trouble with my 1 gig mushkin 3500 black kit.... Yet to get it resolved. Although I won't neccessarily blame it on the memory alone. The P4P800 is a finicky board in terms of memory.

......
i must say i'd have to disagree with the general direction this thread is going...
mushkin has a exellent track record as long as ram goes.
you guys are all saying how much they suck compared to OCZ and how it's all CL3 Bulls**t but i think we need to look at this ram a little more closely.
When Mushkin says it needs no more then 2.75Vdimm to run at specs, IMHO, they're not kidding and as you all know a lower stable voltage means a higher OC...
Mushkin (supposedly) hand-tests all thier memory to run beyond specs (but who doesn't these days)
thier return and RMA policly is one of the best i've heard of.
don't just go killing a brand because of it's specs. let some filter into a few reviews first. if it sucks, ok it sucks but my point is we shouldn't be passing judgement on it now .
I know it's rated at CL3 but there nothing that says it wouldn't do CL2 @ 2.9vdimm. i know it isn't it's rated specs but hey, when you're buying DDR500, overclocking is what it's all about!
just my 2 cents

EDIT- changed wording from fourm to thread....
sorry if it caused any confusions....
