| Mushkin Level I, what chips? Loser post! People, I've been looking and I can't find a piece of info. I have a pair of 256MB PC3200 Mushkin RT Level I. The part number is 991088. Does anyone know what chips are on these? I bought them in November 2003. The heatspreaders are green. Thanks, if you can give me anything. --Logos |

| I'm just taking a guess. Possibly CH-5. The CL2 Level I series uses those chips. I think your RAM is sometimes referred to as the Black Line series (though the heatspreaders can be any color |

| This is what CH-5 looks like when the heatspreaders are removed. Sometimes the module makers will put their own markings on the chips. ![]() |

| Thank you. Will remove spreaders when I get home and check. I'm using GSkill TCCD in my A64 box, but with all this talk about what chips are best for this or that over in the DFI-SLI/Ultra-D thread, I started to wonder about that mushkin. --Logos |

| There is no reason to remove the heatspreaders. The Mushkin lifetime warranty is voided once you take them off. But if you absolutely have to...

That's assuming that I "just have to" know, of course, but I'm pretty curious. Besides, at this point, I'm pretty sure those sticks are sticking around. It's not really a performance machine anyway, if I had to drop $70 on a pair of Crucial at some point in the future, I wouldn't care much. --Logos | |
