Mushkin Memory

I'm looking at getting 8GB's of memory, and I'm curious if Mushkin is any good or not. I'm avoiding Crucial Ballistix memory, because I've heard and see too many bad reports about that line of memory.

I'm looking at getting two of the following 4GB Mushkin memory kits, and get them the cheapest from Newegg.

EM2-6400 DDR2 - Mushkin Enhanced

Re: Mushkin Memory

Mushkin has been around awhile and is still good plus they have lifetime warranties I believe.

Re: Mushkin Memory

I just checked and on the Mushkin Forums, people have said the memory will work on the BadAxe series of boards, like the BadAxe 2.

I'm going to order the memory tonight. I almost forgot, I've got a $25.00 credit to use at Newegg.

Crucial memory is starting to get a little pricey for me.

Re: Mushkin Memory

I've always liked Mushkin-----and they have a GREAT forum----with a VERY knowledgeable guy who will give you EXACT settings based on a ton of different MoBos.

I posted a question the other day and within two hours he gave me tailor made settings for my particular Asrock board......

Great customer service!!!

Re: Mushkin Memory

I'm not getting the ultra high performance stuff, as I don't overclock.

Been using Mushkin for years and have never had a reason to complain.

I've used standard Crucial memory for a long time, and it's good, but I'm tired of Crucial's high prices.

The 8GB's of Mushkin memory I'm ordering is cheaper, than 8GB's of Crucial memory, even with DDR2 memory prices as low as they are.

Re: Mushkin Memory

All workstation-level 32-bit Windows OSs are hard-coded to 4GB RAM.

Nope, need to have a 64bit OS such as XP 64 or Vista 64 to be able to use all 8GB's. I'm leaving those games that don't work on 64bit Vista in the dust, as I don't really play them at all.

So everyone who dual boots XP32 with vista64 has to reach in and physically remove half the RAM sticks in order to boot to the 32 bit XP after using the 64 bit vista?

People that are dual booting Vista 64 and 32bit XP, only have 4GB's of ram in their system.
