OCZ EL DDR PC-3700 Dual Channel Gold 1GB Quad

Can any back or refute the claim made by anandtech that ...

"In our tests of mixed pairs, performance decreased 22% to 25% compared to four matched double-sided DIMMs."

This would indicate that this RAM would be da bomb if all the reviews on the dual kit are accurate.

Anyone tried the quad on the P4C800-E Deluxe ???

Any problems using all four DIMMS with OCZ Gold 3700 ???

Are all the 256mb dual / quad Gold 3700 kits double-sided - rephrase - has anyone seen a single sided version ???

(NB! Anyone got a link that explains the DS vs SS benefits)

It all depends on what cpu you are using. Also the P4C800E switched off PAT at 201fsb and higher with 4 DS modules installed due to a bios problem( we hope!!)

I would say the 4000Gold 1 gig kit is a much safer bet if you want to get the most from a 2.4 or 2.6C on the board. If you have a good 2.8 or 3C(240fsb+) then the 3700 gold is faster...once the bios is sorted it will be truely awesome!!

Thanks bigtoe, I think ?!?!

So to be sure with the P4C800-E Deluxe -

2.8C will work wine now with the 3700 QUAD and will improve with BIOS upgrades (hopefully).

2.6C will work fine with 3700 DUAL but would give more out with the 4000.

Right ?

I'm looking to populate the memory for two machines one 2.6C and one 2.8C and can get a good deal on OCZ Gold 3700 or 4000 Dual and Quad kits. I just wanna work out if they will all work in these machines. The 2.6C isn't going to be overclocked but the 2.8C is gonna cop a hammering.

Please clarify.
