| Why don't you use a program called Cacheman ver. 4.1 I use this program & never have any problem. Maybe it'll help. Download it here: http://www.outertech.com/downloads.p...5a5bf789ab5216

| I think your wrong. I have two CUSL2 motherboards. Both of them now have the drivers on the ASUS CD version 14.02. Both boards have bare bones setup and same BIOS version, BIOS setup and hardware. One of the boards encounters the memory issue no matter what memory I put in it (PC133 256MB or PC133 128MB). This concludes for me that the motherboard with the problem is a LEMON. It goes back Monday! Guys remeber there are CUSL2 lemon boards out there for whatever reason. You can't always blame the O/S or hardware or software or RAM or BIOS. The only way to determine these things is to have several boards, memory etc at your disposal. Most can't afford to go this route and spend many wasted days and nights trying to figure out what is wrong. |

| Hey DennisTheMemmace, I concur in your situation. But as you say for those who don't have two machines. It takes a wee bit of testing, to figure out the problem. When it comes to defective mobos. Without jumping in and ripping out the mobo at the first sign of problems. After all some people don't enjoy swapping mobos out! I had two defective mobos and if I didn't have 3 machines to test on, it would have taken alot longer to find the problem. I really don't think anyone is wrong here, they are just looking for a solution. Trying to narrow it down to a final solution! Thats called trial and error! | I've learned much by trial and error. Also spent many long weekends trying to figure things out. That is great but sometimes you just want to resolve the problem so you can get on with bigger and better things and get some work done. When someone tells me that it is not the motherboard or ram problem and I clearly tested that theory then I have to say they are "wrong." In this case mind you. We can all learn from each other. In the real world there is wrong and right. We must test and prove what we think is an answer or solution. Only then will we find truth. |

| DennisTheMennace, I'm not really having any trouble agreeing with you. I think its just me, trying to see where you are coming from. Your second post helps. I think I'm still having trouble, trying to figure out whose wrong. If anyone! [Edited by Skull on 04-01-2001 at 02:11 PM] |

| Make sure you don't have any scraped electric traces/links & some broken small ICs or resistor on mobo, wihtout you aware of it. It may happen during installation, especially when installing socket HSF. Maybe the mobo is just defective.
