P4c 2.8 & 7000cu, RAM and OC question..

Hi lads!

Been browsing and lurking your forums for quite a while, and finally got myself together to sign up

After this introduction, here goes my first post and first question(s) :wave2:

First of all... here is my current specs.:
Asus P4C800 Deluxe
2x512Mb PC3200 Performance Memory
2.8GHz P4c cooled by Zalman CNPS7000-cu

Been thinking of a way to make my system perform a little better, and here OC came into the picture.

The bottleneck in my system seems to be the RAM and furthermore the 2.8GHz is as far as I have gathered not the most OC-friendly CPU around.

Was thinking of getting some Kingston HyperX PC3500 or 4000, but the trouble is, I don't know how far I can take the cpu with this cooler. And furthermore I must admit that I'm really not into RAM-timmings.

So guys, what would be the optimum solution for me? Any advice is appreciated

Try oc'ing your system with a ratio on your memory just to see how far you can get your cpu stable and then buy the appropriate memory matching that fsb to run it in 1:1 mode.

Huh?! Those posts are 3 1/2 years old!

I'd say avoid the Kingston HyperX 4000. I had a problem with it on my P4C-800E Deluxe!
