Question P4C800E-D & only 75% on Sandra (buff'd) BW?

When I test with Sandra (buffered) I get about 75% efficiency (4899/4798 or something along those lines). I was wonderinf if 75% is decent, or do I have something misconfigured on my mobo? The RAM I have is rated for 2-2-2-5 @ 200MHz. Currently my system (see my sig below) has only the OCZ memory installed.

Currently I have most things on auto (I do have legacy USB support disabled) except

Quote:
AI Overclock Tuner - Standard

Performance Mode - Turbo

Config DRAM Timing Speed - Disable
DRAM CAS# Latency (CAS) - 2
RAS# Precharge (TRP) - 2
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay (TRCD) - 2
DRAM Precharge Delay (TRAS) - 5
Burst Length - 8

Memory Acceleration Mode - Auto
DRAM Idle Timer - Auto
DRAM Refresh Rate - 7.8 uSec

Graphics Adapter Priority - AGP/PCI
Graphics Apature Size - 128
Spread Spectrum - disable
ICH Delayed Transaction - enable
CPU-Z shows FSB : DRAM is 1:1 (FSB=200) and Performance Mode is enabled (both as expected).

So, would having ICH Delayed Transaction DISABLED speed things up? I was just wondering if there was something I had misconfigured and could get something higher than 75% efficiency.

Your PC-3200 mem has a THEORETICAL bandwidth of 6400mb/sec and you're getting around 4800mb/sec. 4800 divided by 6400 gives you 75%. That's all that really means. For PC3200 running at default speed (400mhz) which is where you're at, 4800mb/sec is perfectly normal. No one ever reaches full theoretical bandwidth because of various reasons that I don't know enough to discuss. As far as changing your settings, everything looks great from what I see.
Read this if you're interested in ICH delayed transaction:

Understood. But kind of along the lines of not knowing enough (thats me!!), I thought maybe I was missing something or had 2 settings that actually were at odds with each other, or something like that.

Concering PCI Delay Transaction, at Rojak it says
Quote:
It is highly recommended that you enable PCI Delay Transaction for better PCI performance and to meet PCI 2.1 specifications.
but I have seen posts where people recommend disabling it. I didn't know if it was better enabled on lower-end systems and it was actually better to have disabled on higher-end systems, or some such logic that is way beyond my pay grade! I was just looking some someone who lives and breathes this stuff to give my configuration/setup a look-see and point out any glaring problems/conflicts. I am quite happy with the performance of my system as is.

take out either Dual channel ram (2 sticksx512) and that will improve your scores by a large number....

when u have all 4 slots filled on the asus mobo, it turns performance mode OFF

He posted above that he only has the OCZ installed. And, you don't lose PAT with 4 sticks unless you OC.

Mike.

My scores were very similar with 2 or 4 sticks of RAM. And yes, CPU-Z did confirm I am in dual channel mode and have performance mode enabled. I'm not O/C'ing and just wanted to maximize the performance of my stock system - since I have decent components in it.
