P4P800-DLX w/2 Gig Ram (Compatibility?)

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone managed to put 2 gigs of RAM (4x512MB) in an ASUS P4P800-DLX board?

The list of compatible DIMMs on ASUS' overview page is very short; and I can't find any local computer stores that sell any of the RAM in the list.

I am not planning on overclocking; I just wish to know which RAM chips will work up to 2 gigs.

At the moment, I only plan on buying 1GB (2x512MB), and am hoping to have an easy path to upgrade to 2GB without having to buy 4 new chips (just add another 2x512MB).

I want to make sure that the RAM is PC-3200 (DDR400) and capable of dual channel, and that I can have up to 4x512MB DIMMS in there.

Is there another list of compatible DIMMs out there for this Mboard?

Crucial works great in my board. Running at 2.5/3/3/7 at stock voltage...and you can give it an OC if you choose.

Something I'd suggest if you have the extra cash or credit lying around...

If you know you will eventually want 2G and need to know the performance of a type of RAM for the future, go ahead and buy 4x512 from a company like NewEgg.

If it works fine, return 2 of the sticks and pay the restocking fee. If it doesn't work, RMA all 4 at no loss to you and try again.

Anyone manage to put 4 regular KingMAX PC-3200 (512MB) chips in?

I plan on buying a new system; all the stores that have reasonable prices only have Samsung and KingMAX and maybe a few others (and OCZ, but that's too much $$).

Could you send model/part #'s of the DIMMs? I want to make sure I get exactly the same thing so I'm not screwed in the future when I want to go up to 2 gigs.

I plan on doing some real-time video analysis work which requires a lot of ram; however, RAM latency is not necesarily critical in my work (although I won't complain if I can get a good latency for cheap).

Basically, it would be nice to have an 'extended' list of tested RAM part #'s that work with Dual-channel and can handle for DIMMs.

So if anyone has 4 DIMMS of 512MB, could you please list your part #'s
