P4P8X-SE Memory Issue

My specs: P4 2.8ghz Prescott, 2x512mb Elixir RAM, P4P8X-SE MB..

Question: I recently bought 2x512mb of ram and added them with my current 2x256mb... No matter the combination of the slots i used, one pair of either ram would work, but if i used all four slots the computer would not boot up..

Both sets of ram are PC3200 400mhz.

Please give all advice.

thanks,
Jack

Sorry no one could help you. That motherboard is a bit buggy. It probably does like the 4 sticks at the same time. Try giving the ram, 2.85volts in the "bios" Dont go any higher if your unfamiliar with your rams specs. You may have to get two 1 gig sticks if you NEED to upgrade the ram. Also in the bios set the ram "timings to 3-4-4-8 and see if it boots. Good luck.

I don't know how to change BIOS settings

Could someone please tell me how to change my BIOS settings to what ddoggma reccommended?

Also, do I need to put in all my RAM in my MB before I make these changes?

thanks
