pc100/samsung/256mb/ECC ram without any hiccup..
(setting= cas222, 7T9T, 133:100:33)

but today, i swap the ram with kingston pc133/256mb/value
& came my nightmare.....hanged like no tommorow...
(setting= cas333, 7T9T, 133:133:33)

(btw:using slot 1 & ram setting is normal...not strong)

tried to up Vcore to 1.90v didnt help...

even tried by downclock cpu back to default
(700@1.65v, cas 222, 100:100:33 , 7T9T)
but nightmare con't........

so, the outcome seems like my cusl2 dont like this new kingston ram.....anyone had this problem before or did

Yea, go-back to what worked before. Try returning the other memory. With Mushkin memory you don't have those problems!!

If only we can get such brands here. Singapore maybe possible...but Malaysia...unlikely.

The price of these high quality RAM after conversion and add a bit of profit for the distribtors...vendors..retailers..becomes almost untouchable except for those with cash to bust.

memory

Here's what happened with me:

I originally had 2 x128 pc133 333 crucial memory on my cusl2. bios settings could be set to 222 5t7t or 333 5t7t with no problems at all.

I just got 1 x256 pc133 222 crucial memory. now sandra memory test locks pc, 3dmark crashes back to desktop, games crash. bios settings are spd 222, 5t7t (haven't tried 7t9t). tried all three slots with no difference.

The rest of my pc specs are as follows:

P3 933 @ 980 133/133/33 set to 140/140/35
above mentioned memory
CUSL2
sblive xgamer5.1
gf2ultra
3com nic

Maybe increase Vcore voltage or drop down a mhz or two in your oc'ing. Check temps, 7-9 instead of 5-7.

Your Wrong speedy! That was put there, because of a jumper Asus was going to put-in and didn't! See the two little weld spots by those words! Intel chip set supports 4 banks of 133 memory, starting at slot 1-3. I run Mushkin rev2 133 in slot one!

For the best track record it is Mushkin memory, just look around the forum! Mushkin is the memory for overclocking, period! At one time I thought different till I got me a Mushkin stick, all the difference in the world. Also Mushkin is great even if you don't overclock. You rest better, knowing that your data is less likely to be corrupted from bad memory!
