Just a short question,.. In Sandra my memory benchmark is 313 / 360 (alu / fpu), is that about right for 2x128mb SpecTek PC133 on a CUSL2-C..? Its 3-3-3. Should I have really looked into purchasing 2-2-2 ram instead? I just took what the store gave me for 133mhz, since I figured ram was ram and I didn't really know about the 2-2-2 timings at the time of purchase. I havent tried to drop it to 2-2-2 or any combo to see what happens. Think it will it crash if I do so..? or just have to try and see..? ( or is it even worth it?) here is my setup P3-800EB@800 2x128mb SpecTek CUSL2-C Bios 1003 Creative Geforce2 GTS 32mb v6.50 Win98 SE If you need anymore info, just ask and ill see if i can give you it. I have Sandra / Ctspd if you need any info from there. Thanx

Don't worry, CAS3 is fine.. unless you plan on doing some serious overclocking. I was using the same memory (128MB) and got a similar score (667EB). At 2-2-2 7/9 it was up around 400, but didn't make a noticable difference in the real world. Recently added a 128MB CAS3 Micron (more expensive) and the system bombed out, so traded it in for a 256MB SpecTek CL3A (CAS3) panel instead. Everything OK again. ddd

I have no plans for overclocking, except to find out what the max this 800 can do, which from what I have seen is around 950. I was just curious thats all, considering my friend has 192mb of 100mhz ram on a celery 2 566@850 and his mem benchmarks were higher than mine.. 340 / 373 (alu / fpu) and according to Sandra that score beats out a p3-1ghz w/256.. hehe But I know they are just synthetic scores anyways... I dont plan on changing my ram just for 2-2-2 anyways.. lol Well, Thanx for the info ..

Well comparing CAS3(333) and CAS2(222) it`s a lot of difference in overall system performance-not just in a synthetic benchmark. Benches are to compare things not just a lier. Try 222 or 322 and you`ll see the difference. Only good modules can operate 133 Mhz 222 as the PC133 specification sets as standard the 333 option. Enhased SDRAM specs(HSDRAM)sets the line beyond 150 222. Always buy what comes with your needs to be satisfied.
