| Question - Dual channel Greetings all :-) I havent been able to follow up on what is happening due to holidays and more :-) So now I have some catching up to do ! Lets start with the stupid question: If I have two 512 mb memory in a Dual channel motherboard, will it show 512 mb memory or 1024 mb memory in my system ? How much available memory do I have then ? Or do I have to think in one, way but know that it works in an other way ? Dont laugh at me :-) Thanks ! Peter Last edited by Swedish Viking : 08-23-2003 at 08:10 AM. |

| It will show 1024Mb ram, and you'll have that much usable ram, so think of it just as a normal system. However, the two 512Mb dimms are accessed both at the same time, so read/write speeds are effectively doubled, hence the performance increase of going to Dual Channel motherboards. Hope that helps
