question=fail S.Pi 32m/pass johnny lee

I'm testing my Ballistix @ 280MHz. Right now it passes Super Pi 1M, 8M, but not 32M. I decided to try Johnny Lee's GO-SP2004 and it seems to be doing well there so far, over 1 hour testing.
Can anybody help me by explaining why this is so?
Thanks!

Try using OCCT instead of SP2004. Much faster test (30 minutes). If your system is unstable, OCCT will tell you.

Thanks Sierra, I have OCCT & will try.
No sooner than I posted did SP2004 fail. It said to see "stress.txt file" but I can't find it. Would there be anything there that would say if it was RAM or CPU?

I see that OCCT says it is the CPU not stable...that's all I wanted to know.
Thanks!

I believe the stress file just keeps a log of how many times you've run the test and whether it passed or failed. Check under Program Files. There should be a txt file there.

If you throw up an A64 Tweaker screenshot, I might be able to help diagnose the problem. Also, how much VDimm are you using?

I set many things to auto in BIOS just to see how they show in A64. I then set
Trc 11, Trfc 18, Trwt 4, Max Async Latency 8, Read Preamble 5.5, Idle Cycle limit 16.
I've tried drive strenghts at 7 & 2 and currently at 5 & 1.
I was stable when testing at DDR 540 & CPU at 2972MHz.

trying Super Pi again with Dynamic Counter disabled. I notice VDimm values from SmartGuardian showing 2.7V to 2.72V while set in BIOS to 2.77V, not sure which to believe. SG seems to be very close on CPU & chipset volts as set in BIOS.

Try the following:

Trc = 8
Trrd = 0
Refresh rate = 166MHz 1.95us

Bypass max = 4x
Dynamic Idle Cycle Counter = disabled

It'll do 8M but not 32M I don't understand Trc=8 and not Tras + Trp.
I'll keep playing with it, try to find the magic combo!
