Question regarding FSB/bandwidth

I had a question regarding the 1066Mhz FSB for the new core 2 duo-s. I was under the impression that DDR2 533 in dual channel mode would fully saturate the bandwidth available. After reading about this (I've been away from this for awhile) I see that DDR2 667 and DDR2 800 are being used, with DDR2 1066 being talked about with a 1:1 divider.

Can anyone help me with this, or point me to a good link explaining this? I would think DDR 2 in dual channel @ 1066 would be twice the bandwidth that you could actually use.

Thanks!

What is going on is that users are buying faster ram because C2D's are known for overclocking the FSB like crazy, beyond what 533 or 667 is capable of, so users get ram that is rated for beyond what the FSB can be maxed out at.

So people are effectively raising the FSB to 2132Mhz to use DDR 2 1066 in a 1:1 divider? I suppose with higher end motherboards you can lower the multiplier, but without that, you'd basically have to get a 100% overclock....?
