Angry RAM greater than 256MB is not recognised

I have a PROBLEM
I have just built a pair of machines and everything has gone fine except for the fact I cannot get either of the mobo's to recognise more than 256MB of ram. I have tried all combinations of RAM in all combinations of slots.
below are the specs:

PIII 1Ghz CPU
2x 256 MB pc133 RAM (NCP if this matters)
CUSL2-C Mobo
Geforce 256 MX 32MB w/ tv-out
2 x 40 GB WD ATA100 Hdd's

The other components are not common between the two.

I have read the manuals etc and understand that at pc100 3 slots are available where as at pc133 the mobo only supports 2 slots for RAM....

Any Ideas????
Would 1 x 512MB pc133 work instead???
Anyone with similar experiences?
What the **** do I do?

Also I think Crazy John is off his scone.

Hey Psycho! (Seems strange to address you in that way.)

NCP if that matters? Is that your RAM's brand name?

Anyway the CUSL2 boards can be picky with RAM. Give us more details about the RAM modules you are using and maybe someone can help.

PsychoJoe:

I'm currently running 3 sticks of Mushkin Enhanced Rev.3 128MB (single sided) CAS2 PC133 SDRAM @ 133MHz FSB on my CUSL2-C.

I believe that the restriction to 100MHz FSB is when you exceed 4 SIDES (Banks) of SDRAM... (Each Side is considered a Bank by the 815 chipset).

The CUSL2 series motherboards are VERY picky about the quality of SDRAM... I originally tried 1 stick of Micron 128MB PC133 CAS3 (single sided) and 1 stick of Micron 256MB PC133 CAS3 (double sided), with very poor results (occasional lockups, registry corruptions, etc) Even Sandra would crash when doing a memory benchmark, unless I dropped down to 100MHz FSB.

Since installing the Mushkin memory, it's been absolutely Rock Solid Stable @ 133MHz FSB at the fastest memory timings... Even Sandra works perfectly fine now...

Go for the Mushkin Rev.3... It's a bit more expensive, but it's Well Worth it for stability!
