ram slows

I have an ASUS K8S-MX running a sempron 3100. When I run 1 stick of 512(3200) ram it runs 400 bus, hwoever when i put 2 identical sticks in 1G it runs at 333 and wont manually change. I have updated the BIOS and this has not helped.

I see you are then you are populating both memory slots on the motherboard if you use 2x512. Have you tried manually setting the memory speeds back to 400MHz?

thanks for your reply yes i have tried but it still will only run at 333, if i set it to lower speeds it will run at the lower speeds.
