You are correct, the order in which the timings are listed do differ from bios to bios....however for the P4C800-E the ras to cas is actually the third variable when viewed within the bios....2-2-3-6, however as a unofficial standard most people write the timings as I did earlier, with the ras to cas as the second variable. I thought I was clear about that, but I will make an effort to be more precise in the future.

Well, I have not had enough yet so you probably were clear and I simply missed it. This was a big problem when these boards first came out so I was hoping perhaps you had a simple solution to this issue. Hopefully, there will be a simple resolution to this.

Mike.

Ok guys. Not quite as exciting as we thought, I think!

(Thanks for the timings tip Mike. I have been running them correctly. However, the swapping around confused the hell out of me when I first got 'em! )

Anyway, I've been testing again now I'm back from work and it looks like it's just a dodgy module. One of the sticks will pass memtest without errors from either cold, or on a re-run.

The other, however, fails sporadically from test 3 onwards/after about 20 seconds. This is from cold, irrelevant of RAM slot. On re-runs, it passes fine, which I still don't quite get, but I'll learn to live with it!

So, unless there's something I'm missing, I'm reckoning it's a definately a sketchy stick. In which case I'm gonna need to sort out a UK RMA with OCZ. Is this generally easy or do you think I'll need to ship to the US?

Moral of the story: If memtest passes warm, give it a try from cold!
