| Hey guys: Assuming that rev3 Mushkin High Perf is better than rev2, why isn't there a 256MB module available in rev3 format??? Also, do mushkin make 512MB modules? Thanks..

| The chips on the Rev 2 256 are the same as the Rev 2 128! Call Mushkin for verification! The Rev 2 256 are the best! Mushkin does not make a 512 currently.

| I think Tom made a typo. He means the Rev 2 256 and the Rev 3 128 use the same chips.

| I am not sure because I do not own mushkin but I kind of remember someone saying that rev.2 is double sided and rev.3 is single sided, but do not take my word for it.

| Here's a fact ! Here's the chip (Mosel Vitelic) used on Rev.2 128 megs stick ![]() The Rev.2 256megs and Rev.3 128megs sticks use the same chip (Siemens Infineon) ![]() The Rev.3 is better in stability when overclocking than the Rev.2 128megs. Often 1 256megs module will perform better than 2 128megs modules because your driving information on 1 module. |

| The overclcokabilty of the rev 3 chips is not so much related to the chips used but rather the design of the pcb. Apparently, the single sided dimm reduces interference, or something along those lines, and therefore allows for a higher overclock. Therefore, it is possible that the chips used in rev 3 could be of either make. There's an srticle on the web somewhere about this, i think it is on http://www.octools.com but I'm not toally sure.

| OK Folks, This article fully explains how REV 3 came into being: http://www.lostcircuits.com/memory/rev3/ They took a 256mb Module of REV 2 and removed all of the chips from 1 of the sides. |
