it is safe to run ram up to 3.5v for daily use?

just wondering, because i am guess with my new ram that should be here tomorrow i will be running it at around 260mhz at about 3.4-3.5v 24/7, that should be ok right?

I would say it's ok yeah but no one really knows the long-term effects yet. You prolly shouldn't run >3.5 24/7 though.

High voltage is tough on both your RAM and the mem controller of your CPU.

that is what i was thinking too i guess we will try it. i probably won't be running my cpu any higher than 2.6Ghz though, no sense to push it real hard.

my ram is warranted up to 3.5v so i guess time will tell then huh?

FB, are you still planning a fan on the DIMMs? That should help.

yup, may just leave the 80mm on the side panel, then use a 70mm fan to place over the rams. that way fresh air will be blowing into the case and the 70mm fan can accelerate that onto the ram??

I was just thinking that a duct would be great on that RAM! Any chance you could create one?

but ducts never look good, they always look tacky

i will get pics though, and i will be adding the 70mm fan tomorrow, just the fan from the AMD stock cooler

Do you still have the same case (yellow with window)? What do you think about http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/pro...duct%5Fid=4905 ? It's nice and clear, good for straight (i.e., not bent) ducting.

That'll work. Just be sure to saw carefully when you sut it. That stuff usually is pretty brittle.
