OK - I want some advice. I have a P4C800 Deluxe. I want the best settings for TWIN XMS DDR4000 -

I want to know at 400 Mgz (for unoverclocked CPU testing) as well as 500 - plus can anyone tell me if it is possible to up the FSB to the RAM separatly to the CPU on this board ?
If so how ?? New to this so appologies - I tried to find the info but got lost with all the OC stuff ...

There really are no "best" settings for any stick of RAM just because it has a certain brand and certain model number.

Every stick of RAM will have its own best settings dependant on what computer its in, ie. motherboard, chipset, BIOS (possibly, though I'm not sure I believe it yet), CPU, and PSU.

I suggest running the RAM at stock timings (stored on SPD) to start out with. Test to see if it's stable. If it is stable, then try slightly lower timings. If your RAM is stable at 3-7-7-8, then try 3-6-7-8, 3-6-7-7-, 3-6-6-7, etc.

Try every combination until you can't find a stable setting anymore.

From what I understand, OCZ's PC4000 is not meant to have good timings but is meant to run well with high FSBs. I don't know if other brands that offer PC4000 will do better timings.

What is your goal, anyway? What kind of processor are you running? Are you trying to squeeze every ounce of life out of your CPU or are you going to be fairly conservative with your overclocking?

If you aren't going to overclock, you will probably be wasting your money on PC4000.

Read my previous post again. There is no magical optimum timings anyone can give you. Every stick of RAM will behave slightly different. Every computer system will cause a single stick of RAM to behave slightly different. You've gotta figure out what your RAM can do on your own.

Again, read my previous post.
