Hello everyone,
i own a CUSL2 with a celeron 366(456). Since now I had a single memory stick , single sided Aim 128 MB PC133 which worked fine on 3-3-3 124FSB (never tried it on 2-2-2 but I didn't care much). I bought yesterday another one, a double sided Huyndai 128 MB PC133 for expansion. I placed the Huyndai double sided on first row and the single sided Aim on second row. Settings : 3-3-3 7T/9T Data driving mode : Normal ( strong also had the same problems) on 124 FSB. And the problems started : Cotinuous hangups, segmentation faults etc on Windows Me. I removed my older one and left only the new one == the system works fine. Result : The sticks don't have problem individually but when they work together. What is the problem ? My motherboard ? The fact that the one is single and the other is double sided ? A BIOS setting ? Please help me on that !

Thanks everyone in advance!
Nikos, Greece.

Για σου Νικο,
I have also one single-sided and one double-sided module. The first is a generic 32MB PC100 CAS2 with NEC chips and the second is a Viking 128MB PC133 CAS3 with Hyundai. When they run toghether, at any slots up to 145Mhz 333 7,9 I don`t have problems.Beyond that they start.
Note that NEC can operate stable at 150Mhz and Viking 160 333 7,9 /148 322 7,9/124 222 7,9
Maybe it`s a difference at clock cycle and access time of the chips have(if as you said you`re running at 124Mhz).
Think again of the low mem prices but you won`t get faster with more MB in applications that don`t need much physical memory. If you need speed vs capacity then go for Mushkin rev3(I am going to take mine tomorrow).
ΥΣ.Αν θελλεις πουλαω την VIKING.

Για σου Ελλαδα!

Thumbs up

Try putting one stick in slot 1 and the second stick in slot 3.

I run two double sided, 128 meg sticks like this at a memory bus speed of 125, mem settings 2-2-2, 5-7.

Rock solid stable.

(Processor is a PIII-600E, OC'd to 1002)

I suggested rev3 because of future change in cpu.
rev 1.5 is fine for 124Mhz(are rated 222 at 133) but I don`t know about Mushkin basic PC133 if can do 222.

PS.Our location is different (για την Viking).

Thanks everyone for the replies, ευχαριστώ :-)

The reason why I bought the second memory stick is the low price but mainly I am going to work with Oracle which needs memory and I want to have a "comfortable" system. Anyway I arranged a return, I will give back my old Aim PC133 single sided with a Huyndai double-sided , identical with my new one, so I will have two identical sticks on my motherboard. Hope I won't meet any other problems.

if I will , I'll post them here also :-)

Thanks again,
Nikos.

Είσαι πολύ τυχερός φίλε που μπορέις να βρέις Mushkin. Εδώ Ελλάδα δεν έρχεται , μόνο Αμερική και μόνο αντικαταβολή πουλάνε αυτοί.

Take raston's advice. I have to run my 2 sticks of 128 double sided in slot 1 & 3. Any other place and I have stability problems in some applications. Weird, but it works.
