System failed Menory test

just like the title, I was using my back up computer.
that has a P4S533 mobo 2 sticks pc2700 not matched. in slots one and two.
it was working fine today. it locked two times so I rebooted and got the audio
system failed memory test. any idea what tha might be. I have a Hddr that might be that good. it seems to have a loose power connection on it and sometimes
will spin up or you hear a clicking noise from there.

Try booting with just 1 stick at a time. Sticks of ram can randomly go bad but it's unlikely that they both went bad at the same time. Or if you have another machine you can test the ram in that would be good too.

Hopefully it's just a bad stick and not the mobo or something.

mobo or something I would welcome the chance to upgrade but not now.
it could be something else like the mobo. that wouldn't be a big lost. I got that from ebay. I have some pc2100 laying around will try that

found it it was a bad stick took it out booted right up
and since its a single channel board I might not even replace it. I still have 512mg
and its a back up system I'm going to install Linux suse 10.0 on it when it arrives.
