Yes, it uses Samsung TCCD chips. All the site/user reviews on this RAM have been phenomenal, and I plan to pick up a pair myself.

Good thing is, it's actually one of the least expensive 1GB Dual Channel kits out there with TCCD, and it supposedly blows most of the others away (including CorsairXMS).

I've been looking for a 2GB pair as well. It seems from a roundup I recently saw, the OCZ performance you mention came out as one of the top price/performance sets.

I've also been looking at this Mushkin (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...5#DetailSpecs). It was one of the fastest at stock, and seems to overclock much better than the similarly timed OCZ platinum 2GB set.

If you ever need 2GB, you can always order up another Patriot 1GB Dual Channel kit ... I'm sure they will perform well even with 512 x 4.

So you're ordering a 2GB Patriot kit? Which model are you ordering?

I've been searching for a 2GB Dual Channel kit of the XBLK ... but I don't think it exists (timing for 2GB probably can't be as tight )

this kit
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220011

supposed to be good for overclocks to about 260ish and the 3-3-3 timings arent too bad for a 2Gb kit, and the performance loss on the A64 by going to cas3 isn't big enough to care

Patriot 2X1GB is okay. But you have to get a pair like Gaspar's that has Infineon CE-6 chips, otherwise the RAM is just average. The AMDZone shootout is a farce. Crucial Ballsitix will outperform everything. This has been proven by real users. But if you're only looking for 225-230, there are plenty of choices.
