These memory scores can't be right

My Sandra score is 337/370, running a 700/933 with CAS2 memory set at 222 7/9. I've also installed the new tweaked beta bios.

What have I done wrong ?

Sounds low what does Sandra say in mobo info about memory timings? Are you sure you are set to 2-2-2 those are around the right numbers for 3-3-3.....

I concur. I get those numbers with a 667EB with CAS3 PC133. 2-2-2 7/9 is close to 400/xxx. Check your 'Use SPD' or set them manually.

Oh yeah, thats too low for your system. I hear the tweaked BIOS needs to have the boot virus protection enabled to get the tweak to work. (That's where they put the fix.) Check that too.

still none the wiser. I've gone throgh my bios again and again, but to no awail. It still says I'm running CAS2.
running ctspd it says I've got CAS3 modules, even though they where bought as CAS2. Can this override the setting in the bios?

This is where quality memory comes in, Mushkin rev2 or 3 will get you high memory scores. ''

Well, the memory was sold as Mosel, but it later turned out only the DIP's or something where really Mosel.
Anyways, I always thought that if you had good enough CAS3 RAM you could run it as CAS2 and get CAS2 performance.
But if this is not the case, Im basically been ripped off....

that CAN be the case, but it is not quaranteed!!!
i have 2 256mb sticks generic CAS3 and both do 147CAS2!!
so you didn't get ripped off, just unlucky
still, if you can replace it, and want generic, see if you can get some with infineon chips, in my experience they oc and do cas2 quite well..USUALLY

I think I'm not making myself clear:

After setting my RAM to CAS2 in the bios, and doublechecking to make sure that it really is at CAS2 through rebooting, I still get these low scores.

Won't the setting in the bios override any specifications to the RAM, provided the RAM can handle it ?

Sorry to nag about this....

hey PurpleMonkey...somethin...sumthin..
sorry about any confusion..
i'm not sure what to tell you, i installed the tweak bios and it werked great, upped mem scores 30 on each in Sandra..
if you're doing all that you said, they shouldn't be that low!!
maybe your memory is just not up to it, remember if it is generic CAS3 theres no quarantee that it will werk at the higher speeds....
can you exchange the RAM perhaps? try with some different sticks?????
that would be my only suggestion atm...

Thanks for all your input. Guess I'll have to live with my crappy RAM since it's bounding on a year since I bought it.
Too bad they don't sell Mushkin in Norway, only 3rd party junk
