Question Are These Settings Ok ?

My Motherboard is the Asus A7N8X Deluxe rev. 1.04

My Bios is the original 1001.C

My memory is one 512MB stick of Corsair XMS PC-3200C2, and two 256MB sticks of Corsair XMS PC-3200C2

My memory is set to run in sync, which is 166. I haven't messed with any voltage settings. The part that confuses me is the timings. I currently have it set on:

SDRAM Active Precharge Delay [5]
SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay [2]
SDRAM RAS Precharge Delay [2]
SDRAM CAS Latency [2T]

I've had it set like this since last week without any problems. I also just got through running a couple of passes through Memtest86 v3.0, and it didn't find any errors. I'm wondering if these settings are bad for my memory, just right, or if I can do better?

My previous settings were:

SDRAM Active Precharge Delay [6]
SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay [3]
SDRAM RAS Precharge Delay [3]
SDRAM CAS Latency [2T]

I had it like that since last January. I lowered my settings to see if it would give me better performance with my new graphics card, and it raised the score in 2K1 by 599 points. It didn't seem to be causing any problems, so I've left it on the new settings.

I was also wondering if mixing RAM sizes matters to your ability to get dual channel, and how you can tell if your getting dual channel? Is there a program you can run or something?

My Motherboard manual says that in order to get dual channel, you need to have your RAM in slots 1 and 3, 2 and 3, or 1 2 and 3. My RAM (Corsair XMS PC-3200C2) is exactly the same except for the size. I have the 512 stick in slot 1, and two 256 sticks in slots 2 and 3.

I have this mobo but I am running the Corsair twins. Best bet would be to ask Ram Guy at Corsair. He is at Official Corsair Support Forums

Thanx, I updated my Bios and got the answer to my dual channel question. The new 1004 Bios shows if your running in single or dual channel mode at start up. Mine said Dual Channel Mode.
